During the conflict in NK, pundits and reddit experts alike theoreticized how Russia’s lack of action is going to see Armenia drop the alliance and turn away from Russia, as if they have a choice.
Apparently, Azerbaijan shelled Armenian positions – it’s now a year after the ceasefire. Armenia in turns reminds Russia of its responsibility with the 1997 agreement to start talks, and if that fails, to provide military equipment sufficient to thwart the threat.
Hopefully Russian government doesn’t sit on its hands like the last time
I really wanna see what excuses Azeris have this time.
OPEN YOUR EYES: YOUR ONLY ENEMY IS YOUR FUGLY LOOKING DICTATOR, NOT ARMENIANS!
This is in Armenia proper and not in any contested territory btw.
Unconfirmed Reports are 15 Armenian soldiers killed. In Armenia proper, within de jure borders.
Reminder that Armenia is the only country not having a territorial integrity conflict within its borders in the South Caucasus region.
On 20 May 2021 the European Parliament recognised that Azerbaijan invaded Armenia on 12 May 2021:
> whereas on 12 May 2021, troops from Azerbaijan temporarily entered the territory of Armenia, which amounts to a violation of the territorial integrity of Armenia and of international law; whereas this violation of Armenian sovereign territory follows worrying statements by Azerbaijani representatives, including the president, which appeared to raise territorial claims and threaten the use of force and thereby undermine the efforts towards security and stability in the region; https://www.europarl.europa.eu/doceo/document/TA-9-2021-0251_EN.html
This should be bigger news. If Azerbaijan doesnt stop this bullshit it could easily turn into a terrible situation.
“Russian ANNA News reports that Russia’s 102nd Military Base in Gyumri has been moved to full combat readiness”
Please not again
>The ministry also said that Azerbaijani forces lost a “significant number of armored vehicles and troops,” adding that four Armenian soldiers were injured.
I have deja vu with these claims.
I don’t understand why armenia doesn’t put everything they have into making an army capable of defending themselves Azerbaijan won’t stop going after Armenians land
Wrong address, Russia probably approves of the new Azerbaijani actions, which weaken the “unreliable” Pashinyan. However, given Pashinyan’s impressive political survival skills, the game is far from over.
No international response last time gives them the audacity to attack Armenia now.
Fucking disgrace
Armenia is surrounded by Islamist ideologies and ruthless dictatorships, cant catch a fucking break in that area.
Its clear as day that Russia isn’t a trusted partner when it comes to Armenia’s security.
Normally quite anti-Russian r/Europe becomes pro-Russian all of sudden when it’s a Turkic-Muslim country that is at odds with Russia.
WW3 coming shit is going to be bad in balkans and now this
i feel bad for armenia, it has two of the three worst big countries as neighbours and they are going to be let down again by russia
Russia be like: forget guaranteeing Armenia, let’s fuck with the EU for no reason.
Turkish drones are really good. You have to have a really good anti-air support to challenge them. Even then those suicide drones are lethal.
Oh my, seems like a really shitty idea.
oh fuck not again

I’m not sure Russia can really help them.
Not a good time to be in the age range of drafting
Boil Over
Russia didn’t do anything for you, Armenia. They’re a shit ally.
I see a silver lining in this :More System of a down songs
That sweet Azeri oil.
Russia has screwed over a couple of its former allies. Ukraine, Georgia, they are basically absorbing Belarus right now. It’s Armenia’s turn now. What can I say. All of them should have had chosen the good side, i.e. EU and NATO, after the fall of USSR.

At best Azerbaijan is attempting to do to Armenia what Russia has been doing to Georgia, [Borderization](https://www.chathamhouse.org/2021/05/new-armenian-azerbaijani-border-crisis-unfolds), at worst Azerbaijan is attempting to invade southern Armenia to cut through to its Nakhichevan exclave: https://oc-media.org/aliyev-threatens-to-establish-corridor-in-armenia-by-force/
