Of course its not. I don’t know, what is France and Germany doing … Russia must be stopped or it will end way worse. Just like when France didn’t help Czechoslovakia against Nazi Germany.
There is never a good time to seek a deal with Putin. We shouldn’t deal or compromise with him, period.
Not really sure I’d at any time be negotiating with Stalin’s child.
Don’t give that f*cker an inch. He’ll use it as an excuse to attack again!
so when is the time for negotiations?
a prolonged war is bad for everyone. i think the point is when will be the time when this prolonged war is worse for russia than for the rest. ukranians are dying, others are getting their dose of war attrition by increased inflation, possible famine. it is possible that russia breaks first. it is probable that russia breaks first. but russia, being the dictatorship that it is has a higher threshold for that war attrition.
and the political ramifications in the rest of the world for the war attrition problem is not yet fully known.
so i ask again, when is the time for negotiations?
You know what’ll sort this little pickle out guys? A zoom call with a megalomaniac.
In 2014 Europe and the West thought letting Putin have Crimea and the fringes of Donbass would be a good foreign policy for Europe to avoid security issues.
They were wrong. Dealing with and appeasing Putin’s Russia does not bring security.

Right on brother I wish every one of the allies thought this way
If you want so badly your peace deal with Putin, then supply enough of modern weapons to Ukraine to win the war, and you will be pleasantly surprised how suddenly willing Kremlin is to compromise and reach a deal acceptable to all sides.
There is a saying that if you give a thug a cigarette you have already given him your wallet. I think it apllies to the situation
Go tell that to hypocritical fake pacifists all over Europe who say “war=bad, Ukraine must give up for our sake, Putin is a guy who knows how to hold negotiations…”
Those cowards are the reason this conflict is still going, they don’t wanna aid Ukraine cause they are afraid and only care for themselves.
All this talk of diplomacy and finding a solution and giving Russia way to “save face” is useless. Beyond everything else, this is simply because it is based on the false assumption that Putin would be willing to agree to any sort of deal that would be even remotely acceptable.
Putin won’t accept any deal that isn’t de facto Ukrainian surrender and at the very least the groundwork for complete Russian take-over of Ukraine later. The West should not accept any deal that doesn’t at the very minimumum include Russia leaving all Ukrainian territory. Even if Ukraine for some reason accepted a deal that lets Russia keep territory, which is very unlikely to happen, we shouldn’t lift sanctions or stop any of the other measures taken against Russia.
You don’t make deals with people who start wars.
Based. Now I’m considering canceling my New York Times subscription and getting a Washington Post one instead.
