What do you think about calling three different countries ‘Baltic states’?

  1. I heard that Finland was also included in the Baltic states in the past. and The place where I live is also called ‘Northeast Asia’ from outside, but it is completely different countries.

  2. I kind of like it. I consider it an honor. Not all countries are grouped 3-5 and given a specific name. (Scandinavia, Benelukss/

  3. I wandered in r/austria after we won them in ice hockey to laugh about them and discovered that they call us the hamburger of 3 countries that are in northern Europe, but are not considered northern.

  4. The problem is you cannot name a native of the Baltics with a word which doesn’t sound outright stupid. He is a “Baltic, -ian; Baltian”. Like no, it sounds stupid, you can although refer to a native of Scandinavia, as a Scandinavian. Or a native of the Iberian peninsula, as an Iberian, and etc. (In Latvian you can refer to native of the Baltics, and it will sound somewhat sensible)

  5. Always had a alternate history idea of Baltic states as a union with united military forces before ww2. Interesting how history would’ve turned out.
