The greed of London landlords is legendary, even if they are not straight up criminals like in this story.
These scams are nothing new. It’s been a really good idea to *view homes before you rent them* for a while now.
Is it Kafkaesque though?
I don’t agree with physically punishing people via the courts, but if a judge sentenced this landlord to have his fingers chopped off, I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it.
I’m not sure if it’s Kafkaesque or not, but it’s a rip off alright.
It’s not kafkaesque, vice just want to use a fancy word. What these people went through was abysmal though and the scammers involved should be jailed until they die.
