Sounds like the sort of person you’d prefer to get “medical oil” from as opposed to some random guy with no personal investment past making money.
Keeping it illegal and unregulated people with cancer seeking RSO or “Oil” will almost always source locally I’d wager and always prefer the seemingly safer and less sketchy option
He’s obviously got a good reputation and is offering a needed service.
Fuck whoever thinks cannabis is dangerous we are the dangerous part of the equation not a plant
Sounds like a low level Dallas Buyers club scenario,
Fair enough
It’s embarrassing it’s still illegall
>Andrew Baines, 46, a father of two and a cancer patient himself, supplied hundreds of patients with medicinal cannabis oil. The same patients and their families submitted scores of letters to the court describing how Mr Baines – who faced a possible charge of possession with intent to supply and production of a controlled drug – had saved their lives.
>Mr Baines was spared a 15-year sentence in a landmark ruling after the CPS decided not to pursue charges, instead giving him a six-month community order, the lowest possible punishment.
.
Sounds like the justice system had no leeway to drop the charges but tried to lower the outcome as much as possible

>Carly Barton founder of Cancard, which provides patients with a medical ID to carry medicinal cannabis and supplied Mr Baines with a solicitor said: “I salute the CPS and the CPJ in this case who made the fair decision not to imprison Andrew for providing access to life-changing medicine for people in need.
>“Experts like Andrew are few and far between. Currently, they are bridging the gap that our healthcare system is not providing. Now we need to look at better access schemes so that those who need it can access cannabis, and, so that our experts, like Andrew, are able to utilise their specialisms legally.”

> Mr Baines, who is a “Cancard” holder – a medical cannabis card recognised by police – was also supplying patients with cannabis-based medicine.
Who the fuck thought that it was in the public interest to prosecute him?
The Police could walk into just about any law firm or financial office in London and find a dozen or so people using cocaine. Or it’s apparently so rife in the Houses of Parliament that MPs and their staff are openly using it at their desks.
But instead they and the CPS decide to ignore that and they use their discretion to hassle cancer patients. Do they really think that heaping further misery onto cancer patients and their families is the best use of their resources?
> Mr Baines was spared a 15-year sentence in a landmark ruling
Decision to offer no evidence on a charge is not a ruling. Never mind the fact that a Magistrates’ court ruling isn’t binding in any event.
> instead giving him a six-month community order, the lowest possible punishment.
The Court imposed the community order, not the CPS.
> Mr Baines’ solicitor Hannah Sampson said: “I have never seen a six-month community order imposed, if you steal a sandwich from Tesco you get 12 months.
Ridiculous suggestion.
Long past time to make it legal.
Needs legalising arresting someone for having a kilo of weed is the same as arresting someone for being just tanked on 10 pints. Litterally ridiculous.
15 years insane. You’d get less for killing some one with a vehicle or rape.
Can someone please copy and paste the article here please? Ain’t paying a sub to read a few pixels. TiA.
Stories like this always leave me feeling conflicted, given that sooooo many youths have had their life’s changed due to drug charges. Yet some people seem to get away with KILO’S of the stuff.
There’s a multitude of reasons why obviously, but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t rub me the wrong way
Funny how government are all of a sudden changing stance on cannabis maybe its something to do with the millions they have realised they can make in tax
