Garden Valley, nestled between Lindale and Van, is one of Smith County’s earliest settlements. At its peak in the mid-1800s, the village boasted over 300 residents and was a vibrant community complete with a post office, schools, and churches. However, as nearby towns grew and developed, Garden Valley slowly transformed into little more than a footnote in local history.
