NTT DATA has signed a multi-year strategic collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services that focuses on enterprise cloud modernisation and the move of agentic AI systems into production.
The companies said they will work on programmes that cover migration and modernisation of legacy workloads, industry-specific cloud offerings, managed services, and regulated cloud requirements in Europe.
NTT DATA said it has created a dedicated AWS Business Group. The group includes close to 11,000 AWS-certified experts globally. NTT DATA plans to certify nearly 10,000 more experts over the next three years.
AWS said it will support NTT DATA with co-innovation programmes, certifications and client events.
Four focus areas
The companies identified four priority areas for the agreement.
The first area covers “AI-driven large-scale cloud transformation”. NTT DATA and AWS said they will focus on migration and modernisation of on-premises workloads on AWS. They said the work will include automation, data platforms, generative AI and agentic AI.
The second area covers industry cloud solutions on AWS. The companies said they will deliver industry-specific offerings for sectors that include financial services, healthcare, life sciences, the public sector, manufacturing, retail and energy.

The third area covers AI and data innovation for managed services and client experiences. NTT DATA and AWS said this includes operating secure and compliant cloud environments at scale. They pointed to work focused on modernising contact centre solutions using Amazon Connect. They said that work targets AI-driven customer experience deployments.
The fourth area covers digital sovereignty and regulated cloud solutions that use the AWS European Sovereign Cloud. NTT DATA said it is a launch partner for the AWS European Sovereign Cloud. The company said it will deliver “sovereign-by-design cloud solutions and managed services” for governments and enterprises with data residency and operational autonomy requirements.
