    Oh no!!!

  2. Anyone appealing to the Orange Order of the benefits of a United Ireland is flogging a dead horse. There are liberal unionists, typically younger who vote Alliance who are persuadable but your average Orange Order member is a hard-liner who would never countenance it, there’s no point even engaging with them.

  3. No one gives a shit what you think Merv. A simple majority is what’s required yours isn’t the vote anyone is trying to win

  4. Must be shite that on a day where they’re supposed to be celebrating, the only thing that they can do is shit on the other side.

Nothing positive. If they weren’t such contemptible pricks you’d almost feel sorry for them.

  5. Unfortunately for the OO its no longer a Protestant Country for a Protestant People.

    Demographics are destinty.

And the demographics of the OO arent looking too good. ourside the major urban centres most lodges struggle to have more than a handful of members.

A great article on Slugger OToole from a fee years back talking about the OO in Fermangh below especially the numbers and ages of most lodges

  6. Does that mean then that if there is a referendum, that the DUP won’t be launching a completely unhinged “NO!!!!!!!” campaign?

  7. Can we vote in any important social changes before we reunify, I don’t want the crazies from NI blocking everything

  8. If the Orange Order is unhappy about a united Ireland, then they might consider moving to England. They would probably be happier there. They can have lots of fun dressing up in Queen Elisabeth Lookalike Contests.

In all seriousness, the reunification of Ireland is a historical inevitability. It may not happen for another 100 years, but it will indeed happen. Northern Ireland is the last major colony of the virtually defunct British Empire. Like what happened in India, Malaysia, and South Africa, the Brits will eventually leave Northern Ireland.
