Should I visit Poland, if so then what are the things I should look out for, if not then why can’t I, by the way I’m a Canadian citizen

  1. Do you have a criminal record? What kind of questions are these haha. Of course you can visit Poland. I would recommend Kraków. Safety level is much better compared to other countries lol.

  2. I recommend going to Zielona Góra in early September. It’s like a wine city so every year they have a wine fest called Winobranie. This year it will be from the 3rd to 11th September. You can drink wine everywhere and even buy the wine made in the city. There’s also a parade and a lot of fun and cool stuff. It’s also a nice city.

  3. Thank you for helping me and no I don’t have a criminal record, unless if you count going into a different gender bathroom when I was younger in the airport in Oman

  4. I’m Canadian, too! Poland is an awesome place to visit! Very vibrant and exciting in the big cities, and the countryside is lovely 🙂

  5. When you meet someone new, it’s customary to gift them a radish. Never leave your hotel room without your radish bag.

  6. Again, thanks for responding, I didn’t think so many people would respond to my question, thank you!

  7. Yes and no i mean you can but honestly Poland is pretty boring

  8. I do not recommend it. It is full of Poles and they all speak Polish. The beer is good, but I do not drink alcohol, so it is at your own risk.

Source: been born there but lived my whole life in Germany. All I got is a strange scar on my upper left arm. Also I never really visited anything besides the towns my parents are from and those are boring as hell, so do not go there.

  9. In opinion the best city in Poland for tourists is Bydgoszcz

  10. Public transport. It might be scary at first but You will get used to it. Take care!

  11. Gdansk was my favorite city when I visited Poland but in general it was a very good trip (we went to Katowice, Krakow, Warsaw, and Gdansk). The trains made it very easy to get around from city to city. It seemed like everyone on the younger side of being an adult spoke English but they will give you a smile and be friendlier if you learn a few Polish words and try them out (things like hello and thank you). Food and drink is also incredibly cheap. We walked around a lot at night and it always felt safe. Everywhere we went took credit cards so that was nice, but make sure to have some change for bathrooms. I recommend taking the full tour of Auschwitz, that is something I will never forget for the rest of my life. I also miss those Żabka hot dogs.

Here are my rough notes of everything we did, it was all fantastic.

  12. It’s been 11 years, but I had no problem getting in on my Canadian passport (Polish one was expired, too much work to renew).

  13. If you decide to visit Poland, remember. In the name of all that is holy remember. Always give a potato to policemen. It is a very important tradition that shows respect to these fine officers.

  14. They only thing i always recommend someone visiting poland for the first time is the following:

Don’t ever, for any reason, do anything to anyone for any reason ever,
no matter what, no matter where, or who, or who you are with, or where
you are going, or where you’ve been. Ever, for any reason
    whatsoever.

  15. Rzeszow ftw
Not that I am biased being from Rzeszow or nth but still nice little city as a side dish if u in Krakow cause its really close

  16. Visit Poland, it offers amazing cities, sights, nature and food/beer. Toruń is a beautiful City with gothic architecture, then there is Malbork (a big fat medieval fortress), Kraków, Olsztyn, kayak tours in Warmia & Masury, the eastern forests, Warsaw, Gdańsk,…really worth a visit.
You shouldn’t go with a criminal record or if you want to behave disrespectful, if you are in a wheelchair there might be logistic problems. Languagewise you will be fine, lots of Polish people know at least basic English.

  17. I don’t get the “should I visit a country I’m legally allowed to visit without a visa with existing tourist facilities” threads. I mean… I get “should I visit Síria” or “should I visit northern norway during winter” but Poland is just a chill normal country.

  18. OP, what do you hope to experience? Is it old architecture, historical sites, the cuisine, or the countryside?

If you just want to see what Poland is about, I recommend visiting one of the following cities: Gdańsk, Wrocław, Kraków, Poznań, or Warsaw.

If you want to chill away from big cities and cars, check out the regions of Mazury and Bieszczady.

  19. If in Warsaw somebody ask you “do you like legia?” Say legia for your own safety
