At least two explosions rocked Iran Saturday leaving six dead and over dozen injured, state media reported.

One blast occurred at the major southern port city of Bandar Abbas in the Persian Gulf, according to Iranian news agency Tasnim.

The port is also the location of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy headquarters.

The explosion killed a child and injured 14 more in an eight-story residential building, according to Iran state media.

Iranian officials pushed back against initial claims that the explosion was caused by any military operation.

“No drone attack has occurred on the IRGC Navy’s headquarters in Hormozgan, and no building affiliated with this force has been damaged,” the IRGC said, according to the outlet.

The IRGC also shot down social media reports that one of its Navy commanders was targeted, The Times of Israel reported.

The Iranian Navy was set to conduct live fire drills in the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday and Monday just as the US had moved its Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group from the nearby Indian Ocean into position near Iran as tensions between the regime and the Trump administration build.

Bandar Abbas is located on the strait.

The US military’s Central Command issued a stark warning to Tehran early Saturday, telling the Islamic Republic that any “unsafe and unprofessional behavior near US forces, regional partners or commercial vessels increases risks of collision, escalation and destabilization.”

A second blast was also heard Saturday across the strait in Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan province, where five people were reportedly killed in a gas explosion at a residential complex, The Jerusalem Post reported.
