Bristol pubs announce ‘F*** the Jubilee’ three day punk festival

  1. Seems like the edgy sort of thing to happen in Bristol

People cite Brighton as the most ‘progressive’ or rather leftist place in the U.K. but I’d argue it’s Bristol and the competition isn’t even close

  2. Feels very weird to have been a student during the first ‘Fuck the Jubilee’ era, and now to be seeing it happen again, as a pensioner. Time flies.

  3. Good for them! Was in Next the other day and they’re starting to sell overpriced Jubilee tat. No thanks. Fuck the monarchy! Well done Bristol!

  4. I’m finding the overreaction to this pretty hilarious tbh! I live pretty close to the pubs and will be trying to pop over during the weekend.

  5. Celebrate our queen who helped hide her son from the FBI.

Fuck her and her corrupt family of wronguns.

  6. The same people who have a problem with this talk about North Korea being strange and backward with their attitudes to their leaders.

  7. I used live round the corner from the Chelsea and Plough. Great pubs! I remember a ‘Mag-rat Thatcher Memorial Garden’ popping up outside the chelsea which was a muddy square with the sign and some dog shit.

  8. This seems like appropriate and traditional behaviour from Her Majesty’s Loyal Punk Opposition. Nice to see the old ways are still alive in the west.

Can I still get a decent English breakfast out that way? I might move.

  9. Got to love how distressed the royalists are getting over this. It’s literally just a weekender at some pubs.

  10. There’s a punk weekender called Nevermind the Jubilee going ahead in London too at the Bird’s Nest in Deptford, I’m sure there are lots of similar events over the long weekend, not just Bristol…

  11. I mean spending obscene amounts of money to throw a nationwide birthday bash in a time when people can’t afford to heat or feed themselves is utterly bonkers. The Queen ought to tell her government to spend the money on the people that need it right now.

  12. It’s just showing that those who are in charge of this country are severely out of touch with the public. Celebrating a woman who is rich and spending money to celebrate it whilst the rest of us struggle with which bills to pay and what food to buy. It’s disgusting.

  13. Excellent. I’ve already booked a club for the 8th April next year in Blackpool where I’ll be having a 10 Years Since Thatcher Died party. Live bands, live DJs, a poetry competition and offers on White Russians to help us with our calcium deficiencies.
