Cardinal Pietro Parolin began his visit to Malta on Saturday.

He was met by the Apostolic Nuncio Savio Hon Tai-Fai and Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Galea-Curmi, on behalf of the Episcopal Conference, at the airport.

Throughout the visit, Cardinal Parolin will be accompanied by Mgr Pavol Talapka, Desk Officer of the Secretariat of State of the Holy See.

The cardinal is in Malta on the invitation of Apostolic Nuncio to Malta Savio Hon Tai-fai, who has concluded his term of office.

Among others, Cardinal Parolin, together with Archbishop Hon Tai-Fai, met Speaker of the House Anġlu Farrugia.

During the meeting, they spoke of the established parliamentary friendship framework between the Parliament of Malta and the Holy See, ethical responsibility in public life and the human dimension of parliamentary decision-making.
