Yeah. Done that loads. Spliced the wires, taped it up, and started again. Eventually—-> cordless.

Now it’s cordless, happy days!
Trip switch just goes instantly or…?
You may branch out and buy a new one.
Looks like a pretty decent excuse to tell the missus !
Not supposed to be cutting hedges this time of year anyway.
The kind of shit you do as a teenager *accidentally* when your dad wants you out cutting hedges for the day
lol the first time cutting the hedge after we moved house I didn’t know you’re only meant to press the triggger on the hedge trimer when doing a cut, so i just held it down full non-stop, grand for the first 20mins untill sparks and smoke started flying out the back and the thing went up like a fire work, lesson learnt that day !!!!!!!
You might be able to get something like one of these from an electrical shop:
You might want to replace that white extension while you’re at it.

I’m no electrician, but it looks like you’ve a problem there friend.
I did that allot in the past… the corderf kept getting shorter… now I have all my tools on batteries (even the lawn mower)… life changing!
My mother bought one of those yokes. I remember her constantly saying “Be careful with the cord! Don’t cut the cord!” Everytime I went to use it. Take a wild guess who was using it and accidentally cut the cord on it.
Been their, done that. I now have a battery powered version.
Someone did not follow standard health and safety protocol
Wouldn’t you think they’d make the cable a nice shade of green, which is the only colour I can think of that would be less visible than the black…..
**Please get a RCA.**
Duct tape.
Just wrap your hedges tightly with it, stops them growing.
Bring it back to the shop🤣
My fella did that with our hedge trimmer. I managed it with the lawn mower. The mower didn’t cut it but it did enough damage to the cord to make it dangerous. This is what I like to call lessons in going cordless.
Hey, at least it’s not your Mickey..
Get one of the kids to hold each end to complete the circuit
Did this 3 times and my son once. Just get electrical tape, stick it back together and away you go
Just move the plug up to where you cut it off.
Lol did your mother trim your intelligence?

Grad the electrical tape lad
I did that too, haha!
Did that the other day myself. I ended up taking all the screws outta the unit. Sliced the wire to expose inner parts. Stuck it back in to the unit. Was grand. Took like 10 mins.
Wouldn’t want to do it too many times! 🙃
exact same thing happened to me doing my grandads hedges and now every time im up he wont let me forget it lol
This is why I bought a battery powered one. 3rd time is a charm.
I’ve done that once. So annoying.
I put it back together and it worked fine lol
Easily done.
Done the same on a neighbours cutter. Wasn’t too difficult to take it apart and connect the new end of the cable TBH
Did ya switch it off and back on?
Get yourself a battery powered one. I recently picked up a Makita one and it does a fair amount of work on a single battery.
It’s hedge karma, your not supposed to trim during nesting season
