  1. The kind of shit you do as a teenager *accidentally* when your dad wants you out cutting hedges for the day

  2. lol the first time cutting the hedge after we moved house I didn’t know you’re only meant to press the triggger on the hedge trimer when doing a cut, so i just held it down full non-stop, grand for the first 20mins untill sparks and smoke started flying out the back and the thing went up like a fire work, lesson learnt that day !!!!!!!

  3. I did that allot in the past… the corderf kept getting shorter… now I have all my tools on batteries (even the lawn mower)… life changing!

  4. My mother bought one of those yokes. I remember her constantly saying “Be careful with the cord! Don’t cut the cord!” Everytime I went to use it. Take a wild guess who was using it and accidentally cut the cord on it.

  5. Wouldn’t you think they’d make the cable a nice shade of green, which is the only colour I can think of that would be less visible than the black…..

  6. My fella did that with our hedge trimmer. I managed it with the lawn mower. The mower didn’t cut it but it did enough damage to the cord to make it dangerous. This is what I like to call lessons in going cordless.

  7. Did that the other day myself. I ended up taking all the screws outta the unit. Sliced the wire to expose inner parts. Stuck it back in to the unit. Was grand. Took like 10 mins.

Wouldn’t want to do it too many times! 🙃

  8. Done the same on a neighbours cutter. Wasn’t too difficult to take it apart and connect the new end of the cable TBH

  9. Get yourself a battery powered one. I recently picked up a Makita one and it does a fair amount of work on a single battery.
