In this Weekly Writeup, you will find events such as Jazz Day, a Painting Valentine’s Day Coasters event, a Career Success Clinic and an Unlocking the Science Behind Olympic Glory led by NIU STEAM.

Location: Holmes Student Center, Duke Ellington Ballroom and Capitol Room
If you want to be prepared for the job market the Career Success Clinic is the place for you. During the clinic students can work on a resume, LinkedIn page and more all while career service professionals are by their side to help. The event is open to all years and majors. Those interested must RSVP to participate.
UNLOCKING THE SCIENCE BEHIND OLYMPIC GLORY
Date and Time: 6:30 p.m. Wednesday
Location: Fatty’s Pub & Grille
Available to everyone, you can join NIU STEAM for their Unlocking the Science Behind Olympic Glory led by Dr. Jahred Adelman, a physics professor at NIU. Attendees are able to learn the physics at play when the Olympics athletes perform in their sport.
PAINTING VALENTINE’S DAY COASTERS
Date and Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday
Location: DeKalb Public Library
Wanting to make something special for someone you hold close or want to decorate your home? Valentine’s Day coaster decorating is available in the DeKalb Public Library. The supplies are first come first serve with no prior registration required.
Date and Time: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday
Location: Music Building
If you love jazz you can stop by for Jazz Day, which is an opportunity for high school jazz bands and their directors to perform for each other and NIU School of Music faculty members. The high school students will also participate in individual instrumental clinics led by NIU jazz faculty. Each band will perform a 20-minute concert which will be open to the public.
