The governing council of the European Central Bank (ECB) holds its first meeting of the year and it would be a shock were it to kick off 2026 by changing interest rates.
Nevertheless, the press conference featuring Christine Lagarde, the ECB president, will be analysed closely, to check if there is any change in tone.
