The two teams continued to trade shots in the fourth quarter. Wilkerson finished out his night with a 3-pointer and a pair of made free throws, and Maddox Phillips and Ayden Henderson made the most of their bench minutes by scoring four points each.

In the end, the Jags finished out the 16-point win to return home victorious.

Wilkerson led Spain Park with 18 points. Morrison dropped 12 points, Fox scored six points, Quinn Davis had five points and Phillips, Henderson and Andy McQueeney each finished with four points.

The Jags got off to a much better start the next night against Leeds. Triples fell early and often for Spain Park, including twice for Wilkerson in the first for a 17-point quarter as well as for Harrison Stewart and Fox.

Those four 3-pointers powered Spain Park to a 16-8 lead at the end of the first that only grew over the course of the game.

The second quarter was the Sam Fox show as he scored 10 of his team’s 12 points. Fox scored at all three levels, hitting a pair of shots inside the arc, one from outside and the final three of his four free throws.

Wilkerson scored the other basket to join Fox in double figures, and the Jags pulled away for a 28-17 lead at the halftime break.

Wilkerson resumed his scoring dominance with seven points in the third, including his third 3-pointer of the night, while Morrison scored his first four points of the night.

Spain Park’s defense held the Greenwave to nine points for the second-straight quarter and gave the team a 43-26 lead after three quarters.

The Jags finished out strong with 13 points from five different players, including triples from Stewart and Owen Leonard plus four points for Reed Oatridge. Spain Park added to its lead in the fourth and closed out the 20-point win.

Wilkerson led the way with 17 points while Fox had 15 points, including 13 in the first half. Stewart scored six points, and Oatridge and Morrison each had four points.

The Jags improved to 20-9 overall ahead of their final regular-season game, a home rematch with the rival Hoover Buccaneers on Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. at Jag Arena.
