I want to go from Oslo to Stockholm to Helsinki in one single trip, what transportation options do you recommend.

  1. Train Oslo-Stockholm, ferry Stockholm-Helsinki (check out Silja Line and Viking Line). Whatever you decide for the first leg, the ferry is by far the best choice for the views as well as being comfortable and low stress.

  2. I’m thinking about trains since they are economical and environmental friendlier than a plane or car and biking/walking across the peninsula would take away all of my time and energy

  3. i mean… just go to school, then hit yourself in the head with a hammer and then get drunk. norway, sweden and finland.

  4. Hey! I am currently backpacking through scandinavia and I basically did this trip too! I’ll PM you!

  5. You can take a train from Oslo to Stockholm but apparently it’s an awful trip and not advised(very windy so can’t sleep, and just forest so nothing to see beyond that). Never done it myself, but I have driven and that’s also quite boring.

Not sure about the Helsinki trip, maybe just fly? No way your gonna drive, and there’s a ferry but it takes 16 hours. Maybe not the best use of time.

  6. If you have an extra day I’d recommend going by train from Bergen to Oslo and then on to Stockholm. The train ride from Bergen to Oslo is quite pretty and would only add about 8 hours to your journey. Then take a ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki. If you order through interrail you can order a pass from Bergen to Helsinki via Oslo, Stockholm, and Tallinn. From Stockholm to Tallinn and to Helsinki is by ferry.

  7. Plane, obviously.. but…

the alternative is the night train from oslo to stockholm and then the night ferry from stockholm to helsinki.
