New Application and Fee Will Be Necessary for Travelers to the Schengen Zone in 2022

  1. I definitely thought this was a good idea when announced. Especially with PLFs becoming so popular in the age of COVID, there should be more documentation when trying to enter the Schengen Zone, absolutely. I’ve always felt weird with how simple it was to enter into Europe.

  2. In short:
You have to provide personal information and biometric passport data.
    Cost is $8 per application.
Approved application is valid for 3 years and covers unlimited number of trips within the valid period.
Children <18 years old and elders >70 years old are exempt and won’t need any approval for entry.
It has nothing to do with visas, visa requirements or exemptions (depending on nationality) remain the same.
