This is Q for the Aer Lingus bag drop, it’s barely moving. We’re after being moved up to the closing flights lane as we have kids with us. If it hadn’t been for that I can’t imagine we’d make the flight and it’s not for another 3 hours. No self serve bag drop machines or lanes open. And this is before we see what awaits are security. Madness.
I’m on the verge of booking a holiday for July/August but seriously considering not bothering with the way things are there, and this only May.
How can the bag drop take so long?
We were in the queue earlier. The automated machines for bag drop for Aer Lingus are out of order this morning so the queues are a bit crazy. They don’t look to be opening additional desks for drop off either.
I feel sorry for the staff too!

On the positive side there is virtually no Que are security currently
Security queuing issue was solved by DAA fairly rapidly in fairness to them. The bulk of the issues now seem to be on the airline side, especially AerLingus. Bringing in a requirement to stow “cabin baggage” in the hold might have been a nice money spinner, but they haven’t been able to staff the queues that it creates. Couple that with the fact that “Verifly” barely works and you’ve heaps of people who can’t now check in online and it’s a recipe for disaster.
Prince William heading home to granny for her birthday I see
Went through Amsterdam on Monday made Dublin look good
Huge queues for US preclearance as well. I think every US flight today has been delayed as a result.
Makes me nervous but then i realise im flying ryanair terminal 1 😎
At least there’s no fighting travellers in this image of Dublin Airport.
Yeah I got through airport security in literally 10 mins today I’d say
My goodness there must be 40 people in that photo
Ok, I know Ill get downvoted to hell but the first thing I noticed in this picture is not a single mask been worn.
Ill be *that* guy….
If you are going on holidays or travelling in general and expect to be in a building with thousands of people from across the globe why the fuck *wouldn’t* you wear a mask in this scenario??
To me, this oozes stress. Are holidays really that worth it???
Will purchasing FastTrack get one through quicker?
Is this coming or going? Or both? I’m travelling to Ireland next week and just want to let people know if it’s going to take long.
You definitely need a holiday after all that
Feel sorry to anyone travelling with very young kids , it’s stressful and frustrating at the best of times ,but when young toddlers and kids are stuck in queues it amps up the stress levels.
What’s the context here – is that the queue to get through security and if so, what’s the estimated time of wait ? Have they completely abandoned FastTrack booking options also ?
Should have gone to knock
Who’s main eventing today?
If they need staff so badly why can’t they just offer more money. It’s an international airport ffs.
All ahead of me on Wednesday. Dreading it. Anyone else heading to Primavera festival in Barcelona?!
I’m completely out of the loop is something going on?
I’ve come to expect travellers stripped to the waist having a fair dig when I see a post about Dublin Airport. Disappointed
No UFC today?
I’m about to fly into Dublin airport tonight into tmr, will I have the same hold up? What’s the issue exactly?
Why everything has to be so fucking stressful in that place?
I went to Dublin for a couple of days early in the month. It was about an hour for them to finally get my baggage at baggage claim.
At least you can get through it I guess, KLM have stopped selling tickets in Schipol because the staffing at security is so bad.
Happy I got through alright twice 🤣
I’m flying out sunday.
We were planning to leave Mayo at 6 for an 11.30 flight to America.
That’s now going to be 5.
I was at the airport at like 3 in the morning the other day and it was still busy. Lucky I had fast track
So strange seems to go up and down randomly. I travelled on may 12. It was the fastest check in and security I’ve ever done in Dublin airport
Why aren’t there any Travellers brawling? Are you sure this is Dublin?
I fucking hate flying so this would be the icing on the cake for me….
Starting to think about coming home after ten years away. Plan is 2024 or 25. Hopefully it’s sorted by then!! Christ…
Jaysus I’m lucky I haven’t been able to afford to go on holidays in years! That genuinely looks like an unpleasant start to a trip.
**Quiet every other Airport** – Cork, Shannon, Kerry, Waterford, Knock
Such craziness is now leading to departure delays, which causes arriving planes to having to wait for gates to become free. My inbound flight today spent 1h on the runway at mid day waiting for a gate; multiple Aer Lingus arrivals were in the same situation. This is no longer bearable.
