# **Current rules extension:**
Since the war broke out, disinformation from Russia has been rampant. To deal with this, we have extended our ruleset:
– No unverified reports of any kind in the comments or in submissions on r/europe. We will remove videos of any kind unless they are verified by reputable outlets. This also affects videos published by Ukrainian and Russian government sources.
– Absolutely no justification of this invasion.
– No gore
– No calls for violence against *anyone*. Calling for the killing of invading troops or leaders is allowed. The limits of international law apply.
– No hatred against any group, including the populations of the combatants (Ukrainians, Russians, Belorussians, Syrians, Azeris, Armenians, Georgians, etc)
– Any Russian site should only be linked to provide context to the discussion, not to justify any side of the conflict. To our knowledge, Interfax sites are hardspammed, that is, even mods can’t approve comments linking to it.
—
# **Current submission Rules:**
Given that the initial wave of posts about the issue is over, we have decided to relax the rules on allowing new submissions on the war in Ukraine a bit. Instead of fixing which kind of posts will be allowed, we will now move to a list of posts that are not allowed:
– We have temporarily disabled direct submissions of self.posts (text) on r/europe.
– Pictures and videos are allowed now, but **no NSFW/war-related pictures**. Other rules of the subreddit still apply.
– Status reports about the war unless they have major implications (e.g. “City X still holding would” would not be allowed, “Russia takes major city” would be allowed. “Major attack on Kyiv repelled” would also be allowed.)
– The mere announcement of a diplomatic stance by a country (e.g. “Country changes its mind on SWIFT sanctions” would not be allowed, “SWIFT sanctions enacted” would be allowed)
– **All ru domains have been banned by Reddit as of 30 May**. They are hardspammed, so not even mods can approve comments and submissions linking to Russian site domains.
– Some Russian sites that ends with `.com` are also hardspammed, like TASS and Interfax.
– The Internet Archive and similar websites are also blacklisted here, by us or Reddit.
– We’ve been adding substack domains in our AutoModerator but we aren’t banning all of them. If your link has been removed, please notify the moderation team explaining who’s the person managing that substack page.

### Comment section of this megathread
– In addition to our rules, we ask you to add a NSFW/NSFL tag if you’re going to link to footage with graphic or can be considered upsetting.
– You may try to evade the ban on archive.org and similar sites by separating the letters, but do not break the other rules of our subreddit (such as spamming fake news)

**Fleeing Ukraine**
We have set up a wiki page with the available information about the border situation for Ukraine [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/worldnews/wiki/ukrainewar). There’s also information at [Visit Ukraine.Today](https://visitukraine.today) – The site has turned into a hub for “every Ukrainian and foreign citizen [to] be able to get the necessary information on how to act in a critical situation, where to go, bomb shelter addresses, how to leave the country or evacuate from a dangerous region, etc”.

A very informative, very detailed, even if long, explanation on the corruption in the army, worth watching, troll viewed, mod approved1

*BRUSSELS (May 30): European Union (EU) leaders are due to agree at a summit later on Monday (May 30) that the sanctions package under preparation should include an embargo on Russian oil imports as punishment for Moscow invading Ukraine, but exempt pipeline crude deliveries.
But, unable to agree on all the details of the oil embargo, the leaders will leave the final agreement on the package for later.
“The European Council agrees that the sixth package of sanctions against Russia will cover crude oil, as well as petroleum products, delivered from Russia into member states, with a temporary exception for crude oil delivered by pipeline,” the latest draft conclusions, seen by Reuters, said.
“The European Council therefore urges the council to finalise and adopt it without delay, ensuring fair competition and a level playing field in the EU single market, and solidarity among member states in case of sudden interruptions of supply,” the draft said.
It added that the 27 EU member countries would “address the issue of the temporary exception for crude oil delivered by pipeline as soon as possible”.

>- Russia has likely suffered devastating losses amongst its mid and junior ranking officers in the conflict. Brigade and battalion commanders likely deploy forwards into harm’s way because they are held to an uncompromising level of responsibility for their units’ performance. Similarly, junior officers have had to lead the lowest level tactical actions, as the army lacks the cadre of highly trained and empowered non-commissioned officers (NCOs) who fulfil that role in Western forces.
>- The loss of large proportion of the younger generation of professional officers will likely exacerbate its ongoing problems in modernising its approach to command and control.
>- More immediately, battalion tactical groups (BTGs) which are being reconstituted in Ukraine from survivors of multiple units are likely to be less effective due to a lack of junior leaders.
>- With multiple credible reports of localised mutinies amongst Russia’s forces in Ukraine, a lack of experienced and credible platoon and company commanders is likely to result to a further decrease in morale and continued poor discipline.
So:
– Russia keeps advancing the conflict in more areas even if they are suffering heavy loss of troops and weapons
– EU countries are mulling scrapping Russian oil sanctions and there’s constant internal debate on “Russian gas yes/no”
– Serbia secured a gas deal with Putin
– Italy: Russian-Kremlin linked hacker group Killanet announced they will start a cyberattack against Italy today
The DAX almost hitting 15k points in midst of a war on the continent and a ad how energy transition, that will impact most of the corporations listed is probably the biggest sign for having a supply induced constraint out there, the books are full apparently and not effected by divesting from Russias tiny market at all.
With the right financial help and political decisions, Europeans might not have fear for their jobs after all.
