Hunter generated the entirety of Spain Park’s first-quarter offense with six points off two field goals and a 2-for-4 stretch from the free throw line.

The Jags built on that 6-1 first-quarter lead and had one player score all of their points for the second-straight quarter. Franks hit a trio of 3-pointers to push Spain Park out to a 15-2 lead at halftime.

McAdory flipped a switch in the third quarter and dropped 12 points behind a seven-point quarter from Mariah Wren. However, the Jags countered that with two more 3-pointers from Franks and six additional points from Hunter, also off two field goals and two free throws.

Spain Park matched the Jackets’ 12-point output and led 27-14 going into the fourth.

The Jags defense kicked into gear to finish out the game and kept McAdory at bay for the 12-point win. Nylah Calhoun scored four of Spain Park’s five fourth-quarter points to get her onto the scoresheet for the first time all evening.

Franks led the Jags with 15 points, all of which came from 3-pointers, and Hunter joined her in double figures with 12 points.

Spain Park finished the regular season 16-13 and will now take on the Pelham Panthers in the Class 6A, Area 8 semifinals. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. at Chelsea High School, and the winner will receive a spot in sub-regionals.
