  1. There was CCTV footage of the incident, wasn’t there? I assume we have to trust that the jury got it right on the basis of the evidence.

    It still seems like he was behaving very inappropriately, though, since the incident started after he put his arms around the other guy’s wife.

  2. That Breen White fella looks like a bit of a character, has his own plane runway on his estate and was apparently a smuggler for the IRA (hence the CAB settlement that was referenced in the trial). I’d say he’d have an interesting autobiography if he ever put one together.

  3. Mad that he was allowed to stand for the Dáil, get a third of a quota, then be forced into the Seanad, all while awaiting trial for this.

    Not a normal party.
