A few years back at a Might Boosh gig in Belfast they did a gag about [Michael Collins](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Collins_(astronaut)) half the crowd cheered the other booed followed by awkward silence. I assume they didn’t know what just happened.
My Chemical Romance are still a thing? Robert Pattinson’s Emo Batman will be thrilled
McCartney in Dublin a few years back said Liverpool was the real capital of Ireland. Judging by the expression on his face he didn’t expect the boos. Lol
I just watched the videos of this for anyone looking for context:
Lead singer of MCR mentioned that he doesn’t care about his voice anymore even if he was singing in front of the queen of England. Irish crowd jeers him by booing and then laughing and then chanting “fuck the queen”
Next night he goes “so you guys really don’t like the queen of England” to which chants start again.
All in all just good funny jeering that made me lol.
Megadeath Antrim 1988 wins every time. Supporting the Irish cause in front of several thousand Prods.

There’s a great story about Dave Mustaine accidentally starting a riot when Megadeth played Belfast in the 80s, due to a poorly worded comment on stage. Not actually arsed writing it all here but there’s a ton of articles.
For anyone else confused as i was, this tweet is not about Gerry Adams. Apparently the front-man from MCR who mentioned the Queen at a Dublin gig is called Gerard aka Gerry.
It’s not as bad as the time Bloc Party played Oxegen and said “Hello Dublin, its good to be back in the UK”
I remember one time when I first moved to the Boston area I was chatting to this girl in a bar abut music and we had the same tastes pretty much but then she said she liked my chemical romance and I was, a bit arrogantly, aghast.
I said they were shit and she gave me this big long diatribe about subjectivity in art and I quietly made my exit.
I feel vindicated by this, and by the fact that they are actually shit.
