Edwards, a current star for the top-ranked Wisconsin Badgers, is a two-time NCAA national champion in 2023 and 2025 and a reigning First Team All-American. Edwards ranks second among all NCAA D1 players in assists per game (1.33) and sixth in points per game (1.71) this season.

Team USA women’s hockey has 11 players who earned silver at the 2022 Beijing Games and includes 21 members of the 2025 IIHF Women’s World Championship team.

Czechia embarks on a major opening-night upset bid and a chance to push closer to their first-ever medal at the Winter Olympics.

The group is led by eight PWHL stars, including the first overall pick in the 2025 draft, New York Sirens forward Kristyna Kaltounkova.

The Czech women appeared in the Olympic tournament for the first time in Beijing and finished seventh out of 10 countries. They have secured back-to-back bronze medals in the 2022 and 2023 World Championships.

The United States and Czechia last met in the semifinals of the 2025 World Championships. Team USA won 2-1 and went on to capture the gold.
