Emporia Main Street’s incubator space has a new tenant.
Main Street announced Thursday afternoon that Juniper and Sage will open to the public this coming spring. Described as a “thoughtfully curated local retail shop created to help individuals and families”, Juniper and Sage features refillable household goods, herbs and natural wellness items aimed at helping to reduce waste by allowing residents to refill and reuse containers for products.
Owner Kat Stueve, in a news release from Main Street Thursday, says, “At its core, Juniper & Sage was created out of a passion for helping Emporia and the surrounding communities reconnect with what nature provides in a modern, practical way.”
Juniper and Sage will be the third occupant of the incubator space since its opening, with previous tenants including Trox Gallery and Gifts, which, after two years in the space, moved to its current home at 715 Commercial Street, sharing space with Gravel City Roasters. The second and most recent occupant was Imaginarium, which is in the process of moving into the former Graves Drugs space at 609 Commercial and is currently occupying space temporarily at 707 Commercial.
The Incubator space offers businesses six months of free rent, six months of below-market rent and six months of “scaled-up” rent as businesses find their own space.
