Size of him – he’s definitely feeding himself. Come back in 6 months.
Not going to lie, you often see these sort of articles and after reading about their finances and situation think that there may be an element of financial mismanagement, or that they’ve made unwise decisions.
But in this case… Yeah, he’s pretty fucked. The only arguably avoidable expense is his dog, but you can tell that if he loses that… well, I don’t think it would end well.
Poor chap.
Perhaps a food bank for pets? It’s either supporting those to stay in their homes or pets going to shelters, it’s a cost to charities either way. I think a lot of people would feed their pets before themselves. Having to give up a pet especially a lifelong one would be devastating to many.
Anyone who says just give up the dog should pretend they are being asked to give up a child.
He looks very well fed to be fair. A bit of intermittent fasting would do him good
What drives me mental is the rich people, or even lottery winners that could pay at least a month of his living situation easily.
I mean it’s there money, I get it, but it would be nice to see someone give a shit
oh not another obese person who cannot afford food. I’m obese myself as it happens, I am aware that I eat too much.
To anyone who has a dog, CSJ is a brilliant priced quality dog food. You have to bulk buy but it works out great value. £15.10 for a 15kg bag. The delivery cost does add a little extra and it works out best value to order 2 bags at a time as their delivery charge is per 30kg. Has kept my dogs fed and healthy for a decade and kept friends and family’s dogs healthy.
This isn’t really easily applicable to someone like the man in this as the upfront cost will be hard to manage but if you’re tightening your belt while you still have some room to budget then CSJ is brilliant. Means you can pay upfront for several months worth of food at a better rate. Paying so little for dog food has been a lifeline for me at times when I was on low money. I wish I was in a more secure financial position so I could send this man a bag or two so he had a few months food for his dog.
Half the price of low quality dog food like Bakers and more in line with price of supermarket own brand. Of course CSJ does other lines than their basic and some do get pretty expensive but the company caters to working dogs and show dogs and doesn’t waste money on packaging etc.
Eat the dog.
They is some lovely people here.
>At one point he was filling out up to 15 applications each day for all manner of roles, from catering to office jobs, but none was successful.
> “I have spoken to a few employers and they have turned around and said because of liability insurance they couldn’t take me on because of my health conditions,” he said.
> “Part of me does want to get back to work because of the cost of living and everything.
> “But the other part of me says I would rather be safe than sorry.”
So it seems he has just decided he doesn’t want to work and contribute to society and expects the rest of us to contribute £100pm to his dogs upkeep.
No employer would cite liability insurance as a reason why they couldn’t hire someone with epilepsy, that clearly breaks employment law. He has lied about that.
The last quote is telling. He just would rather stay at home and leech of the rest of us than have the hassle of a job.
