Two IKEA Malaysia co-workers, Fatin Badrul Hisham and Nurul Fatihah Binti Rosli, won the global IKEA Talents food contest on 4 February. They took the title with a stuffed fried tofu dish.
The pair won with their fried tofu dish.
IKEA Talents is a global internal co-worker competition. In the 2025 food edition, co-workers from IKEA’s from all over the world submitted favourite dishes linked to the company’s Cooking & Eating focus, with finalists selected to compete in person.
The final took place in Älmhult, Sweden, with a 1 hour 30 minutes live cook-off. Finalists cooked side by side in front of a jury and an audience of IKEA co-workers.
Ingka Group’s Chief People & Culture Officer Alejandra Piñol said the contest aims to support co-workers to develop ideas and try something new. Ingka Group is the largest IKEA retailer, operating in 32 markets.
Fatin and Fatihah said they adjusted their sambal soy sauce to the jury’s taste and felt support from friends and family back home. Other finalists came from Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, and Poland.
