The Ronald Reagan Legacy project celebrates the 115th anniversary of Ronald Reagan’s birthday.
Each year, in honor of the nation’s 40th President, the Ronald Reagan Legacy Project sends proclamation requests to governors urging them to proclaim February 6 as “Ronald Reagan Day.” This year, to celebrate Reagan’s birthday, 27 governors signed proclamations recognizing “Ronald Reagan Day” in their states. In addition, a 28th state — Michigan — has honored President Reagan in a unanimous legislative Resolution.
The Ronald Reagan Legacy Project was founded by Grover Norquist in 1997. The Project is committed to preserving the legacy of the 40th President of the United States throughout the nation and abroad. The Ronald Reagan Legacy Project also encourages the naming of landmarks, statues, schools, roads, parks, etc. after President Reagan. An early success of the Project was the naming of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The Ronald Reagan Legacy Project is a special project of Americans for Tax Reform. The group championed the naming of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The naming was passed by the House and Senate and signed into law by President Bill Clinton (D) on Feb. 6, 1998. There are currently 184 dedications, 160 domestic dedications and 24 international across 12 countries.
