NEW YORK, New York (Northern News Now) – A federal judge in New York ordered the Trump administration to continue funding programs that help low-income families with children including those in Minnesota Friday.

The ruling grants a preliminary injunction sought by California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota and New York, preventing the administration from withholding the money while a lawsuit moves through the courts.
On January 6, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said it was withholding the funds because it had “reason to believe” fraud had occurred in those states.
The judge’s order temporarily blocks that action for now
