>Meanwhile, an Irish woman living in Scotland who applied for an Irish passport for her son has said she wishes she had applied for a British one instead, having not received the document months after applying for it.
>Tipperary native Catherine Lynas was due to go on her summer holiday on Wednesday, but could not travel, since her son Julian’s passport was not sent, despite the application being lodged in February.
>Ms Lynas told RTÉ’s Morning Ireland that she wanted her son to have an Irish passport so he could have a connection to Ireland.
>”I’m proud to be an Irish citizen and I want my son to have that connection as well, but now I really wish that I would have just got a British one,” she said.
>”If I could contact them and say to stop the application, I would stop it and get a British one. I just feel sickened.
He can have both passports 👀
Be sure to go on the dfa WebChat to complain about it. You might get into the queue this decade.
Managed to get mine renewed and a card passport for the first time in about 6 business days.
Actually thought it was an extremely efficient service tbh
Why book a holiday when you have no valid passport. I can’t get my head around that bit.

Why are people getting onto their TDs about getting a passport. Do it yourself in good time and it won’t be a problem. These people are even making me fell sorry for politicans now.
Did the passport office not say the problem was errors being made by people when completing the form and no actual backlog? Not surprising.
You have to be some new form of gobshite to book a foreign holiday and not have a passport.
My parents renewed theirs and got it back in about 4 days
