Weird how people get the sudden urge to climb on anything when celebrating a win. Looks pretty stupid to me.
I hope everyone had fun and nobody got hurt. Big scale celebrations are few and far between and this whole spring has been really tough for everyone, so I’m happy to see fellow finns celebrating with such open happiness and pride.
Of course I’m not happy about people climbing on statues, getting dangerously drunk, starting fights, littering or breaking stuff, but I’m happy to see so many people singing, dancing and drinking together.
Can just imagine what the offices looked like this morning. I didn’t even go torille and I had such a hard time getting up this morning, thank god for remote work and flexible working hours. Everyone who went to work this morning like nothing happened – you are truly the backbone of this society!
Oh yeah, Škoda Cup is ours!!!
As an American living in Tampere, I’m always amazed at how well behaved the crowds are with little police presence. In America, the cops would be EVERYWHERE telling people what they can and cannot do. Congrats Finland! It was an amazing game and amazing two weeks 🤙
Was in Helsinki last night (Im American). That was by far the most insane experience of my life and I was so happy to be a part of it, i knew Finland loved its Hockey but holy goddamn i was not prepared for that
