MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – There’s a buzz in Madison as the second annual Midwest HoneyBee Expo kicked off on Friday at the Alliant Energy Center.
Bringing beekeepers enthusiasts and experts alike, the event offered classes to learn about the latest trends and technologies.
WMTV spoke with one vendor who said that the event is great networking opportunity.
“This is a great place to come and talk to people, network, check things out, and get familiar with what it takes to become a beekeeper,” said Dough Koltermann, who is a BeeKeeper at Koltermann Farms.
Another vendor said this event serves as a sign that we are getting closer to the end of winter.
“It’s refreshing, honestly,” said Brandon Basel with Mann Lake. “It reminds me that we’re coming into spring and when it’s in February, we need everything we can get because it’s been cold and stuff like that.
The expo wraps up at 6p.m. on Saturday.
