This is awesome 🙂 didn’t know about it
I didn’t even know there were *any* consulates up there. Very cool.
Also, no sundown for you today!

Any open positions available? 😍
Swiss modesty amplified by Norwegian modesty.
Probably the only diplomatic mission where there’s a real risk of being eaten by a polar bear.
Isn’t it the northernmost diplomatic mission in the world? The only other country that has a diplomatic mission on Svalbard is Russia in the village of Barentsburg, which is slightly more soth than Svalbard.
Have you seen Odin ?
Yet, I had to travel to Stockholm from Copenhagen to get a visa.
That is an honorary consulate. Could I get a new Swiss passport in there or a new ID card if I am living on Svalbard?
Beautiful place. Been there!!
It’s “only” an honorary consulate, meaning someone (usually, but not necessarily, a Swiss national) assumes the responsibility of providing assistance to Swiss citizens present there. However, it has no standard consular activity (such as visa issuance, etc.). It’s basically a point-of-contact, the lowest form of consular activity you can have.
