As the orthodox custom has it Holy Thursday is the day to dye eggs! In Cyprus we used to make also little bread egg holders that we call avgotes. Like a little basket.
This is absolutely beautiful! I’ve always used onion skins to dye eggs. Never even considered poppies.
My grandma makes those but with a cross covering the egg
