It’s already been confirmed that President Donald Trump won’t attend Super Bowl LX between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks. Nonetheless, he offered his two cents on the matchup.
During a recent appearance on “The Will Cain Show,” the president of the United States reminded everyone that he’s good friends with Patriots owner Robert Kraft. Most fans assume he’ll be pulling for New England on Sunday night, but he was unwilling to provide a score prediction.

“I can’t say that,” Trump said. “But they are really two good teams.”
Trump did, however, share his opinion on the two starting quarterbacks in the Super Bowl, Sam Darnold and Drake Maye.
“You had one quarterback who looked like he wasn’t gonna make it and he made it. And then you have another one who’s young and they probably wish they played him last year, right? He’s been great.”

Fans confused by Trump’s comment about Drake Maye.
Maye started in 13 games for the Patriots last season, completing 66.6% of his passes for 2,276 yards with 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. While there’s no question he was much better under Mike Vrabel this season, it’s not like he sat on the bench all of 2024.

“Trump, Drake did play last yr. We just had a terrible coach,” one fan commented.
“Drake Maye played in 13 games in his rookie season,” a second fan said.
“What is he even talking about,” another fan wrote. “Maye started half the season last year.”
Maye certainly took his game to another level in 2025, finishing the regular season with 4,394 passing yards, 31 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Perhaps the president just didn’t pay much attention to his rookie campaign.

Regardless, it sounds like Trump will be watching Sunday night’s game on NBC.
