This is obviously Hunt setting himself up as an alternative to Boris aimed at all the live free and die, (I know it’s or die but this seems more apt given the context), Brexiteers infesting public discourse.
If we had not locked down, (and it was far too late IMHO), the NHS would have been overwhelmed inside a month. As it is the NHS still hasn’t recovered to pre pandemic service levels and maybe never will.
Then why did he vote for them?
I’d have avoided all lockdowns by euthanizinging anyone with symptoms of covid.

But to be fair, he’s not claiming he would have just gone full ‘herd immunity’ here, with zero lockdowns.
He’s suggesting that he would have followed South Korea/Taiwan’s strategy of very effective test/trace and quarantine.
Sweden also didn’t have an enforced lockdown, and ultimately look relatively unscathed compared to the UK – but also ended up with relatively similar stats to their neighbours and comparable nations like Germany and Denmark.
This guy is a liar. He was all for lockdowns. Now he is says he wouldn’t have used them. Unbelievable! I watched a UKColumn.org vlog from just this Friday showing him praising China and its lockdowns. There are other interviews on YouTube from a year ago. The nerve.
