Cairo – Aden –Yemenia Airways prevented a media delegation from Germany’s ZDF television from boarding a flight departing from Cairo to the interim capital, Aden, on Tuesday evening, despite the crew holding valid entry visas and officially approved permits from the relevant authorities.

Informed sources said the decision was taken under direct instructions from Brigadier Ahmed Hassan Al-Dubhai, Director of the Political Security apparatus at Aden Airport, without providing any official justification or explanation to the media delegation or airport authorities.

The move came as a surprise, particularly as the delegation was on a declared media assignment and had completed all required legal and administrative travel procedures, raising questions about the motives behind the decision and its implications for press freedom and relations with international media outlets.

As of the time of publishing, no official comment has been issued by Yemenia Airways or the concerned security authorities to clarify the circumstances of the incident or the reasons for barring the delegation from travel.
