I’m not surprised, the amount of stress we’re all under.
I mean tabacco alone has gone up nearly £5 in the last year. From £19.80 to like 24 something for 50 grams.
No shit, same as in lockdown when stuff gets intolerable, when people are unhappy they’ll turn to these common vices
What about Rollerblading?
The song cigarettes and alcohol explain the reasoning perfectly.
They try to spin this as a positive,
>”the economy may have a little more momentum than we thought”.
When in reality people are just punting their last pennies into numbing vices to reduce the pain.
I go to the gym instead
How does this compare to other years.
I’d expect post Christmas (Jan to Mar) alcohol sales to dip and people reign it in a bit and try and also get a bit healthier. Not to mention that there isn’t that much going on.
At some point in Spring the weather gets better and it becomes tolerable to drink outside and smoke – say in a pub beer garden.
I always thought Wonderwall was their most successful hit.

Good for them.
I wonder why.
