Don’t blink, or you may miss it — “Internet Daddy” Pedro Pascal paid a surprise visit to Bad Bunny’s casita during Sunday night’s Super Bowl LX halftime show, and people all over social media are loving it

Bad Bunny’s halftime show was widely seen as a vibrant love letter to Latiné immigrants and their cultures across the Americas, celebrating their identities on one of the biggest stages in the world.

The Hollywood superstar may have only appeared in the performance for a hot second, but his presence alone seemed to signal a continued appreciation for his childhood roots as a Chilean immigrant in San Antonio.

Pascal was 9 months old when his family fled Gen. Augusto Pinochet’s military dictatorship in Chile. After living in Denmark for a stint, Pascal’s family immigrated to San Antonio in 1982. They remained here until he was 11 years old.

During that time, his mother Verónica Pascal Ureta earned her Ph.D. at San Antonio’s Trinity University.

According to a June 2025 interview with “Vanity Fair” reporter Karen Valby, Pascal’s mom was only 22 years old when she became a political refugee: “on days when she didn’t have a babysitter, she’d drop him off at the movie theater” to keep him occupied while she studied, Valby reported.

Since then, it seems like Pascal has maintained a deep love for all things San Antonio — including its culinary culture.

In a March 2022 interview at a South by Southwest event, Pascal wasn’t shy about declaring San Antonio’s superior taco scene when asked to choose between Austin or the Alamo City.

“It’s San Antonio, people. It’s San Antonio. If we’re talking about tacos? Chile con queso, maybe you can get that in Austin. But you get a taco in San Antonio, por favor! As far as I remember, yeah. Sorry,” Pascal said.
