The nation “must not be afraid to face that truth, casting aside any squalid attempt at denial or reductionism. Remembrance is not resentment, but justice. It is the foundation of a shared memory that unites and strengthens the national community, paving the way for those who come after us.” The Prime Minister wrote on social media. Giorgia Meloni on Remembrance Day.
“We have received a baton, and we do not intend to let it fall. This is demonstrated by the many initiatives and celebrations the government is promoting again this year, such as the ‘Train of Remembrance’ which, from North to South, will ideally retrace the journey of those who chose to be Italian twice over. By birth and by choice,” adds the Prime Minister. “Italy will never again allow this history to be distorted, denied, or erased. Because this history is not a history that belongs to a portion of the border or to what remains of the Julian-Dalmatian people. It is a history that belongs to Italy as a whole. To each and every one of us,” concludes Meloni.
