A man from Floyd County, GA, has been sentenced to prison for threatening to assassinate President Donald Trump, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

Jauan Rashun Porter, 30, was sentenced to three years and five months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.

Porter pleaded guilty and was convicted of one count of transmitting interstate threats on October 7, 2025.

His charge stems from a TikTok livestream that took place on July 26, 2025, according to U.S. Attorney Theodore Hertzberg. Porter joined a TikTok livestream about the president, captioned “Alligator Alcatraz.”

Hertzberg said Porter commented on the livestream, “So there’s only one way to make America great and that is putting a bullet in between Trump’s eyes.”

Officials added that Porter also made several other threats to kill President Trump. But when he was asked by the livestream host about federal agents coming to his door, Porter said, “I’m gonna kill them too… and then kill myself.”

Law enforcement detained Porter on August 8.

Secret Service agents, Floyd County law enforcement and Georgia probation officers searched Porter’s apartment during an investigation. There, they found:

Two pipesPistol ammunitionTannerite (an explosive)

However, law enforcement did not find a gun in his apartment.

The DOJ explained that Porter has multiple prior felony convictions in Floyd County to include terroristic threats and acts, influencing a witness, and unlawful act of violence in a penal institution.

Porter is currently on probation for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and for battery domestic violence.
