Romania does not meet any criteria for adopting the euro

  1. As a Romanian I have two comments:
    1. Not surprising honestly. The economy isn’t doing that great and our politicians are too busy doing whatever the fuck they are doing instead of fixing stuff
    2. Maybe it’s for the best. I honestly don’t believe that Romania would be better with the euro

  2. As far as i know baltic countries were not very great when they have adopted to Euro and Schengen as well.

  3. A lot of Romanians: “We don’t want the euro, euro bad”, meanwhile everything of value in the Romanian economy is priced in euros, surely the irony is noticeable, right?

  4. Few years ago we were meeting 3/4. We don’t meet any criteria now because:

    * Current situation (war/pandemic). Everyone is doing poorer
    * I don’t think getting into eurozone was a goal for Romania. (although Schengen is a goal and a disappointment for us)

I don’t get the hate/micro aggression towards Romania, we’ve been nothing but good partners both in EU and NATO.
