MALTA, N.Y. (WNYT) – A Malta man has been arrested after allegedly threatening a victim and refusing to let them leave a hotel room.

On February 10, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 hangup call at Cocca’s Motel in Malta. According to police, Richard E. Hileman Jr., 42, refused to let a victim leave his hotel room while brandishing a knife. He also allegedly restrained the victim in a harmful way.
Hileman Jr. is charged with criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful imprisonment, and menacing. Police say he was previously convicted of menacing within the last decade.

He was remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings.
