In the night of February 12, the Russian authorities stated missile and drone attacks in the Volgograd and Tambov regions. According to Russian Telegram channels, the strikes hit military facilities in these regions.

This was reported by Volgograd region governor Andriy Bocharov and Tambov region head Yevhen Pervyshov. According to Bocharov, overnight the Russian air defense allegedly repelled a missile attack on the territory of Volgograd region, and due to debris falling on a Ministry of Defense facility near Kotluban village a fire started. The official assures that no one was injured, but local residents are being evacuated due to the threat of detonation.

According to OSINT analysis by the Russian Telegram channel Astra, the arsenal of the Main Rocket and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Defense Ministry near Kotluban, located on the territory of military unit 57229/51, came under attack. Local residents on social networks reported powerful explosions and a fire in the area of this facility.

In turn, Tambov region head Yevhen Pervyshov reported that in the night of February 12, due to a drone attack in the city of Michurinsk two people were injured. Also, according to him, as a result of the strike the Magnit supermarket burned down and several buildings were damaged, including the local Industrial-Technical College.

According to Astra, the target of the attack was the Michurinsky Progress Plant, which produces equipment for control systems of aviation and missile technology, as well as various electronics. The enterprise is located next to Magnit, whose destruction was mentioned by Pervyshov.

As stated by the Russian Defense Ministry, overnight on February 12 air defense allegedly shot down 106 drones over the territory of several Russian regions, including 1 over Volgograd region and 13 over Tambov. There were no reports of intercepting missile attacks there.
