Sorry lads, can anybody tell me how, using the EPA map linked in the article, I can tell if my house has high levels of radon or not? I can find my house no problem, just can’t see how they highlight radon. Cheers.
I wouldn’t trust the map entirely because it’s possible for you to have a radon problem when your neighbour doesn’t. You can order a test kit that you leave somewhere for 3 months and then send back to them for a report. https://www.epa.ie/environment-and-you/radon/
There are only like three companies working in this sector providing testing and remediation.
Two of them are one man bands. Don’t know about the third.
Probably because of this thread, everyone is checking! “EPA MAPS is currently down (26/5/2022) Due to a high number of visitors today, the new Radon Map may not load for you. If so, please try again later.”
In classical Irish fashion it appears that the map layers will not load as here are so many ppl looking at said map. Great service of it had capacity for more than 7 simultaneous users. Kinda like the rte player when there is a GAA match on.
The last thing we need is yet another cost on selling property. If you care about Radon, get your own test done.
