  1. Each time they announce new measurements against Ruzzia, you’ll see the oil price rise and the fuel price the day after that. So you see it coming each time

  2. So what i tought is becoming real. The EU banned Russian oil and we will pay for it. Again. For a lot of people these price hikes are getting outrageous.

I sincerely hope something will be done. Like dropping some accijnzen?

Bonus fun question: what do you people here think that coild be done by the government and is actuallu doable?

  3. Like mentioned already… Better get used to it I’m afraid. Besides the current conflict with Russia, European long term energy strategy is hopeless. On top of that we have the green ideology that will cost fortunes. The days of cheap energy are over.

  4. Probably going to get downvoted a lot for this:

But these price hikes are all because of the sanctions we impose on Russia.

But As much as I like to see Putin go away.

    What are the sanctions accomplising?

Sanctions are a great idea in a country like for example South Africa where there was already a political alternative, waiting for people to get ouraged and unite around the oposition. I don’t see this happening in Russia. There isn’t really any organized group, even forbidden ones are not powerful. So instead the people feel victimised by the west and they unite around Putin ofcourse aided by Russian Propaganda.

So I feel like the only reason we are doing this, is to feel like we are doing something. Even if it isn’t accomplishing a lot in terms of ending the war. With a very bad effect for our own poor working class people and those of Russia (who are also a victim of Putins regime).

And before you say that it will cost Russian economy a lot of money.

Putin will sells his oil to other countries, in the begining very cheaply, but the prices are rising world wide so also he will be able to sell it more expensive. Rouble is at one of the highest peaks it has been in the last year.

The effect of big western corporations leaving russia is indeed a better punishment… in the short term. In the long term, Russian, Chinese and Indian companies will take their place.

  5. I said it before and I’ll say it again. I have a car that drinks like Michel Daerden but I still think high fuel prices are just.

I’m willing to listen to anyone who is feeling the pain of fuel prices, but if you drive an suv.. you should have known better, fuck you.

They should actually increase the cost of “mazout” and pellets asap. Because building heating is more damaging then cars.

  6. In a bit of a foul mood today -dunno why- so let’s comment like was done on the thread of the other poor sap who payed crazy money for some charcuterie.

1/ this doesn’t affect me at all, so it’s fine. It’s *you* that burn too much fuel, not me.

2/ wanna know why? WFH as much as I want and if *you* can’t, get another job.

3/ my indexed salary will make up for every possible price increase I face anyway. Big arsed brut wage payes off in the end.

4/ when possible, use SO’s company car, it’s free. If *you* can’t, find SO who has one.

5/ fuel prices are too low anyway and should be tripled at least, societal costs and everything.

6/ if something bad/expensive happens to others and not me, I feel better myself for some reason.

    s/

  8. Just bought a new car… Thinking I should maybe get a bike and take the train to go on my hikes in the weekends

  9. >Benzine 98.

Used by nobody ever these days.

Not that the other prices aren’t high but it is a strange example to use. Might as well quote the kerosine price.
