Looking for a quote to section out, but it’s a short article and it’s all worth reading.
Weyts complains about school spending too much time on bike lessons, the climate crisis, people not being able to afford meals, “and more”
Which is an old tactic. Trying to portray himself as the responsible leader and it’s the workers who are to blame for just not doing enough and not doing good enough.
While complaints have been clear for years, and ignored.
There can be no doubt at this point: Weyts is acting in bad faith. Possible even purposefully undermining education to then later insist on more privatization, as is the neoliberal way.
The fact that lives had to be destroyed in order to accomplish it? Liberals don’t care about that.
>”De afgelopen 20 jaar is het fout gelopen met de kwaliteit van ons onderwijs”, geeft Weyts toe. “Het gaat er niet over wie verantwoordelijk is voor de achteruitgang. Wel over wie verantwoordelijk is voor de vooruitgang.”
“Oh no, the situation has gone very wrong? Don’t look for someone to blame. Let’s look forward. Also, harder tests incoming for new teachers. Have I said there’s nobody to blame yet?”
The level of ivory tower ignorance at play here…
Let’s first off all forbid parents from suing schools to improve the result of their kids if they fail. Let’s also scrap all administrative tasks.
