God forbid they get involved with the local culture and community.
Aka, Irish people will help plan any sesh…
What movie is that from? Looks familiar.
I will never understand British people being obsessed with this a random old lady, who is inbred, not related to the original royal family in the slightest, married her cousin and is inbred.
Yet they all lick her toes day after day
*Nid F@cking Broiiiyyyyeeee*
Four day weekend is a four day weekend. I won’t be participating in anything jubilee related, but I’ll take the days off work thanks.
One hundred percent
Youve to sit in that day eating stale tayto and cold white pudding as a penance
Even using that hashtag is questionable.
“You’re pretty fuckin eager for a Gman!”
Meh. The Yanks have the Fourth of July, the French Bastille Day, we ourselves have Paddy’s Day and the British are into their royal jubilees. Nobody’s forced to participate (nor should they be), but you’ve got to respect the local customs of a country you’re living in. If you don’t, then why the hell are you choosing to live there?
Brit perspective: for many this is about community and a chance to bond with people you may have lived next to for years without ever having a meaningful conversation with. This is something all communities all wish they could have (being more tight-knit), and something Ireland can be quite good at so you can’t begrudge this. Plus as many mention this should be a good session. I’m not a royalist, nor getting these Bank Holidays as I’m here, so I’m not super fussed by it all but I thought you might like to understand the rationale, resume slagging.
Imagine if Irish people in real life were really as rabidly ultra nationalist as the internet makes out.
Yet again the Brits living rent free inside Ireland Redditors heads.
We should just rename this subreddit to r/Talking_About_Brits
All these comments taking it seriously like it’s not a clear joke
A party’s a party. Nobody’s been mad when I throw a 4th of July bbq or Friendsgiving party…
