Here is Team Canada’s lineup against France for their last preliminary game.
Team Canada plays its final preliminary game at the 2026 Winter Olympics against Team France. Earlier on Sunday, Canada won its first gold medal. Mikael Kingsbury won the Dual moguls skiing event.
The men’s NHL-heavy hockey team is keen on winning gold, too. Canada is 2-0, sitting atop their group heading into their February 15th game with France. They previously defeated Czechia and Switzerland by 5-0 and 5-1, respectively. France currently has a record of 0-2.
Team Canada Line Combinations vs France
After Canada’s game against Switzerland, the team’s head coach revealed that Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey would miss the next game against France. He also revealed that Morrissey would come back before the end of the tournament.
TSN insider Ryan Rishaug shared some information while attending the morning skate before the Sunday morning game.
“Josh Morrissey on the ice this morning at Canada’s skate,” Rishaug wrote on February 15, 2026. “Not expected to play today, but a good sign. Marchand and Kuemper also out here.”
With these players as the potential scratches, here is what the lineup against France will likely be.
Team Canada Forward Lines:
Macklin Celebrini – Connor McDavid – Nathan MacKinnon
Mark Stone – Sidney Crosby – Mitch Marner
Brandon Hagel – Nick Suzuki – Tom Wilson
Seth Jarvis – Bo Horvat – Sam Reinhart
Sam Bennett
With Brad Marchand, Florida Panthers, the healthy scratch for the forward group, it’s likely that the line combinations from the previous game against Switzerland stay intact. The top line consisted of Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers, centering youngster Macklin Celebrini of the San Jose Sharks, and Nathan MacKinnon.
The third line of Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby, and the Vegas Golden Knights duo of Mark Stone and Mitch Marner became the team’s second line once MacKinnon jumped up to the top line.
Team Canada Defense Pairings
Devon Toews – Cale Makar
Shea Theodore – Colton Parayko
Thomas Harley – Drew Doughty
Travis Sanheim
This is another case of “if it’s not broken, don’t fix it.” The Colorado Avalanche duo of Devon Toews and Cale Makar has been the anchor for Canada. Dallas Stars defender Thomas Harley has been impressive, too, so far this tournament.
Who Will Be Canada’s Starting Goalie?

GettyJordan Binnington is likely the starting goalie for Team Canada vs France
After taking a night off by not dressing against Switzerland, it’s likely that Jordan Binnington, St. Louis Blues, draws back in as the starter against France. Los Angeles Kings netminder Darcy Keumper was the backup to Logan Thompson of the Washington Capitals in their last game.
While Thompson played well against Switzerland, allowing only one goal, don’t be surprised to see Binnington back in the net for Canada. Additionally, expect Thompson to serve as the backup with Keumper being a healthy scratch.
Team France’s Line Combinations vs Canada
Alexandre Texier is the only member of Team France who is currently an NHLer. Texier currently plays for the Montreal Canadiens after previously playing for the Blues and the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Team France Forward Lines:
Stéphane De Costa – Pierre-Édouard Bellemare – Dylan Fabre
Alexandre Texier – Louis Boudon – Aurélien Dair
Anthony Rech – Nicolas Ritz – Charles Bertrand
Floran Douay – Justin Addamo – Sacha Treille
Team France Defense Pairings:
Yohann Auvitu – Enzo Guebey
Jules Boscq – Hugo Gallet
Floran Chakiachvili – Enzo Cantagallo
Team France Goalies:
Julian Junca
Antoine Keller
