An average audience of just under 1.1 million viewers watched the final of Benidorm Fest 2026 live on La 1 last night.
Benidorm Fest 2026 led its time slot last night, but the number of viewers who watched this year’s final fell to its lowest levels to date. The final was watched by an average of 1,085,000 viewers with a share of 12.1% of viewers, a decrease of 853,000 viewers and a 5 percentage point fall in viewing share compared to the equivalent show in 2025.
Across all of its live shows, Benidorm Fest 2026 has recorded a smaller viewing audience than in previous years. It is speculated that the fall in viewing figures is partly due to the decision of RTVE to withdraw from the Eurovision Song Contest in 2026, and as a result, the contest is now a standalone event. The viewing figures for all three live shows were:
Semi-Final One – 850,000 viewers – 11.1% share
Semi-Final Two – 857,000 viewers – 11.1% share
Final – 1,085,000 viewers – 12.1% share
RTVE has also revealed that a total of 46,000 votes were cast by SMS and through the RTVE Play app during the final. This was down nearly 200,000 votes compared to the 2025 final. At a press conference in Benidorm this morning, RTVE confirmed that it will hold a sixth edition of the competition in 2027.
